The Mighty B-52 Stratofortress. When and if the aircraft ever is retired the youngest aircraft will be over 100 years old. For nearly 70 years now the BUFF (Big Ugly Flying F*cker) has been the tip of the spear of Americas strategic bomber force. Since their entering of service B-52s have flown in the conventional role in the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and the Global War on Terror. Even today at this exact moment B-52 sit on the alert ramps of two continental US bases ready to jump into the air with 15 minutes warning.
